What we’ve come to learn is that a life together isn’t built in just the big, sparkling moments — it’s built in the ordinary Tuesdays. Sometimes it looks like work, come home, cook dinner, watch a show, and fall asleep halfway through the episode. Other nights it’s meeting friends for an ale or a glass of wine after work, or picking up dinner on the way home and staying up one episode too many before realizing it’s way past bedtime. Sometimes it’s hurrying home to shower and change so we can make it to a Sacramento Kings game, cheering way too loud and hoping they pull off a win. And sometimes it’s slower — an evening at the ranch with Kelly’s mom, or dinner out at Scott’s parents’ ranch, gathered around a table that’s seen years of stories and hard work.
We both come from loving, hardworking families who taught us that showing up matters. Giving your time matters. Caring deeply — about each other, about your people, about the life you’re building — matters. In the everyday rhythm of it all, we try to give our best not just to one another, but to everyone around us. We love to see our friends, to linger in conversation, to stay connected to our families, and to make space for the people who shaped us. It’s in those simple routines — the dinners, the drives, the late nights, the ranch evenings, the games, the laughs — that something steady and lasting is formed. My favorite things about Scott are his heart full of love, his mind (though it shuts off right when mine comes alive with random thoughts at night), his embrace when I need it most and I don’t even know, his smile — it makes me smile and brings so much joy to my heart, his generosity for others — he will truly give the most to everyone, and how he brings home flowers for me after he grocery shops on Sundays because he knows it’ll brighten my week (whatever that may look like).
It’s in all of those simple, everyday things that I realized he is the one for me. The way he shows up when no one is watching. The way he loves without keeping score. The way our life feels like the life I watched of my mom and dad’s — true lasting love.

My favorite things about Kelly are a wide array from something casual like her phenomenal cooking skills all the way to her unconditional love and care she made sure I felt from the beginning of our relationship. Seriously, her cooking… chefs kiss!! She has opened my pallet to new horizons, and I know what makes her the happiest is my new love for sushi! We love watching cooking challenges and I always tell her that her challenge would be only cooking with 5 cooking utensils. I swear every dish, cooking instrument, etc gets used in one of her creations, but all of the dishes are worth the perfection she whipped up that night! Her understanding of my goals in life for myself and for us and her unwavering support to help me remember those goals. Her challenging me to want the best for myself and to be the best version of myself for her, our families and friends and every aspect of life. She has brought fresh, new perspectives into my life that I absolutely love. She knows when I need a laugh and how to get me to! She knows when I just need a big hug and words do not need to be spoken. Her unconditional love and care has shown since day one not just for me, but for everyone who has been a part of our lives. She’s someone I have always been able to count on and she’s my biggest supporter in just about anything and everything in life. I know I can continue to count on her and lean on her for the rest of our lives together for whatever life might bring us. We’ve had a special bond since the fateful night we met at Ollie’s and the stars aligned. The past three years has made me realize how special Kelly is and how she is the one for me. The type of love we have for each other will guide us to forever together in a long, fun, and healthy life.
